Snapchat is quickly becoming one of my favorite sources of social media. I love how real it is. Don't get me wrong, I still love a good Instagram feed, but there is something so freeing about being able to post something "non-staged" on your story. It's the best. And I think it's great for your business.
1. It's REAL
Make fun all you want, but it helps when we can see your mom life at home, watch your daily yoga class trips, learn about your favorite restaurants, or follow along on your travel adventures. People love to know there is a real person behind your business and your brand. It shows us that you are real and it helps us relate to one another.
2. You Can Share Behind the Scenes
With Snapchat, you can practically document an entire wedding, styled shoot, or even a workshop! While sometimes we shy away from posting too much of the same event on the same day with Instagram, there is no shame in filling up a story with behind the scenes footage of an event on Snapchat! It also gives our followers an inside peek to content they normally wouldn't see and allows them to view us on a personal level.
3. Exclusive Content
Make sure you share your username on your bio or add your QR code as your profile picture. Then, encourage your audience to follow you on Snapchat for exclusive content that they can't find anywhere else! Share with them an early bird special before tickets go on sale, host giveaways, or share helpful tips they they can benefit from!
Because Geofilters. I'm not talking about the dog filter with the tongue or the amazing bee filter with the voice changer - I'm talking about geofilters. They are filters based on your location; They are amazing and everyone is using them. If you aren't...you should be! ;) Geofilters can be used to promote events, advertise businesses, or even share a public location.
